Service of biological immunology
The Biological Immunology Department at Hôpital Bichat - Claude-Bernard handles routine biology examinations to establish the diagnosis, prognosis and therapeutic follow-up of diseases affecting or involving the immune system. It comprises 5 main areas of activity : autoimmunity, allergology, dysglobulinemia, lymphocyte typing and biotherapy monitoring.
The department provides the following specialized activities:
- Explorations of anaphylactic shock (Reference Laboratory)
- Explorations of complex allergies (allergen biochips, basophil activation test) (Reference Laboratory)
- Explorations of autoimmune bullous dermatoses (Reference Laboratory)
- Exploration of neutrophil polynuclear functionalities (oxidative burst, migration, degranulation, phagocytosis, NETosis)
- Screening for paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria.
The department is one of the members of the "Centre de l'Asthme et des Allergies" labeled a center of excellence by the World Allergy Organization (WAO) and bringing together clinical services, diagnostic laboratory and research units.
