The diabetology department welcomes anyone with diabetes, whatever the type (1, 2, genetic, gestational, drug-related, post-transplant, post-pancreas surgery, etc.).

An expert team of doctors, nurses, dieticians, chiropodist, orthoptist, psychologist, is here to answer your questions:

• A consultation with one of us for long-term follow-up (in close liaison with your GP);
• An opinion:
  - Is it a good idea to try an insulin pump?
  - Am I at risk of diabetic foot disease?
  - What type of diabetes do I have?
  - How do I handle pregnancy?
  - Do I need insulin or not?
  - Are there any other medications for my diabetes?....
• A one-day assessment of diabetes complications (heart, blood pressure, kidneys, retina...)
• Training (workshops on diet, podiatry, pregnancy preparation, use of the new Flash continuous glucose monitoring system...), training in functional insulin therapy; insulin pumping.

If your state of health requires it, hospitalization can be organized.

Our mindset is one of therapeutic education:working with you to find a personalized treatment that matches your health problem and your expectations.

Our level of expertise is that of a university hospital:we also have the mission of informing you about the progress of research, and offering you the chance to take part if you wish.

It's vital that our patients' follow-up is coordinated with the attending physician. That's why we have a telephone line reserved for referring physicians, who can reach us directly 5 days out of 7 without going through a switchboard.

Some figures on hospitalization: 30 inpatient beds, several day hospitals, 15,000 consultations per year.
