Service of Digestive, Bariatric and Endocrine Surgery Consultation

The Consultation de Chirurgie Digestive, Bariatrique et Endocrinienne of the Groupe Hospitalier des Hôpitaux Universitaires de Paris Seine Saint-Denis, is located within the Jean Verdier Hospital in Bondy. It is located in the hospital's main building, on the 1st floor. 
Signs will indicate its location and you can follow them. 
The consultation's surgeons specialize in: 

1) The surgical treatment of obesity: longitudinal gastrectomy (sleeve), gastric bypass and other rarer procedures. Management is multidisciplinary. For more information, please visit http:// https://chu93.aphp.fr/obesite

2) Endocrine surgery: surgery for adrenal gland and thyroid tumors,

3) Carcinological and digestive surgery: tumors of the esophagus, tumors of the stomach and pancreas, tumors of the colon and rectum,

4) Surgery of the abdominal wall: groin ventrations and hernias,

5) Biliary tract, gallbladder (stones),

6) Proctologic surgery: anal abscess, anal fissure, hemorrhoids,

7) Outpatient surgery,

8) The care and fitting of ostomy patients: ostomy therapy consultation provided by an ostomy nurse. 

Depending on your illness and history, your surgeon will tell you whether your operation can be performed by laparoscopy (minimally invasive surgery) or laparoscopy. 

Also, if your state of health allows and depending on your operation, you may be offered outpatient care. 

In order to get an appointment for surgery, it's preferable but not essential to be referred by your GP, gastroenterologist or endocrinologist, with an accompanying letter. 

Furthermore, following your visit to the emergency department and a consultation with a digestive surgeon has been recommended, a surgeon will see you : 

- immediately depending on availability,
- or by appointment as soon as possible, via Doctolib, telephone or e-mail. 

All surgical procedures take place at the Avicenne Hospital in Bobigny in the Digestive, Bariatric and Endocrine Surgery Department, but your pre- and post-operative follow-up will be carried out at the Jean Verdier Hospital. 

The organization of your stay will be explained to you by the Jean Verdier Hospital Digestive, Bariatric and Endocrine Surgery Consultation team at the end of the consultation when the date of your operation has been set.
