Service of Endocrinology

Site : Port-Royal
Building : Copernic
Consultations and Day Hospital : Ground floor
Conventional hospitalization : 2nd floor

The mission of the Endocrinology Department at Hôpital Cochin is to provide consultation and day or conventional hospitalization care for patients presentingendocrine diseases requiring expertise in a University Hospital setting.

This may involve pathologies of the various endocrine glands and/or their hormones: adrenal, pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid or gonadal glands.

The management of these pathologies often requires multidisciplinary expertise coordinated by the endocrinology department with partners from the hospital group, Paris Descartes University or external correspondents within the framework of endocrine rare disease reference center networks.

A large number of endocrine diseases managed are rare diseases, in particular diseases of the adrenal glands and pituitary gland.

The department has been labelled and is involved at national level in the coordination or activity of various endocrine rare disease reference centers and endocrine rare cancer expert centers, in particular the endocrinology department coordinates the adrenal rare disease reference center and the national adrenal cancer expert center.

At the European level, the Endocrinology department is a labeled center in two European reference networks: rare endocrine diseases and rare adult cancers.
