Service of Endocrinology, diabetology and reproductive endocrinology

Endocrinology is the medical science that studies hormonal secretions. The main organs involved are: gonads (ovaries and testes), pituitary gland, adrenals, thyroid and parathyroid glands, pancreas, adipose tissue.
The department has been labeled for 2 rare disease centers:
- The constituent center of the Centre de Référence des Maladies Endocrines Rares de la Croissance et du Développement (CRMERCD), labeled by the Agence Régionale de Santé (ARS) since 2006. The department specializes in managing the transition of patients from pediatrics to adult follow-up, in pediatric endocrinology at the Robert Debré, Trousseau and Necker hospitals in the Ile-de-France region. The main rare pathologies are Turner syndrome, premature ovarian failure, pituitary and adrenal anomalies. Our center is part of the Endo-ERN network of European rare disease centers.
- The coordinating reference center for Insulin Resistance and Insulin Sensitivity Pathologies (PRISIS), since 2017. The center specializes in the management of rare diabetes in children and adults, and lipodystrophies.

Medical gynecology consultations are provided within the department.

Four therapeutic education programs are carried out: type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, diabetes in pregnant women, Turner syndrome.

- Master 2: UE4 Reproductive medicine
- CME in general medicine

Research topics:
- Pathologies in reproductive endocrinology: premature ovarian failure, patients with Turner syndrome, differences in sexual development (DSD).
- Pathologies of insulin resistance, adipose tissue.
