Service of Gastroenterology and nutrition, pediatrics

The Pediatric Gastroenterology Department is part of the Medical and University Department of Congenital Diseases and Developmental Anomalies (MICADO)
It has grown over the past 25 years. It operates within the Medical-Surgical Pole, to which it is attached, in close collaboration with the Visceral Surgery Department (Pr Yves Aigrain). It provides care, teaching and research at all levels of the three disciplines.

  • Inpatient, outpatient and day hospital care for children from birth to age 18 suffering from any digestive, hepatic or nutritional disorder.
  • It welcomes children from the Ile de France region (35%), the provinces (40-50%) and abroad (15-20%) with serious digestive diseases, most of them rare.
  • Collaboration with long-stay centers: CPR de Bullion, Centre de Margency, Centre Edouard Rist, Centre de Perarhidy...)
  • Accredited Center for Home Parenteral Nutrition (NPD) since 1984. Historically and currently for its activity, it is the leading center in Europe.
  • Center of reference for Rare Digestive Diseases in children since 2004.
  • First European center for intestinal transplantation in children.

Pathologies treated include: chronic abdominal pain; gastritis and HP gastritis; esophageal symptoms (GERD and regurgitation, dysphagia); chronic diarrhea (loose or liquid stools); constipation and encopresis (incontinence); suspicion and monitoring of allergies; eosinophilic esophagitis; high fibroscopy; inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn's, UC, immune deficiency); short small bowel syndrome; Hirschsprung's disease; chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction (CIPO); polyposis ; pancreatitis; congenital anomalies of intestinal digestion/absorption; clinical nutrition (growth retardation); celiac disease; eating disorders and/or undernutrition in neurological diseases; enteral nutrition; parenteral nutrition; hepatology (cholestasis/icterus/pruritus/transaminase elevation); viral hepatitis; autoimmune hepatitis; sclerosing cholangitis; biliary lithiasis; follow-up or request for liver transplantation.

L'hôpital se trouve à 15 minutes à pied de la gare Montparnasse.
Il est desservi par :
  • 4 stations de métro : Duroc (Lignes 10 et 13), Sèvres-Lecourbe (ligne 6), Pasteur (lignes 6 et 12), Falguière (ligne 12)
  • 6 lignes de bus : Lignes 28, 70, 82, 86, 89 et 92 – arrêt Duroc ou Hôpital Enfants malades
Les voitures particulières ne peuvent pas pénétrer et se garer dans l’enceinte de l’hôpital (à l’exception de quelques places réservées aux handicapés). Il est possible de stationner dans des parcs de stationnement Vinci : 81 rue Falguière, 28 rue Péclet, 37 Boulevard Garibaldi, 8 Boulevard Garibaldi, 12 et 141 Boulevard du Montparnasse.
