The maternity unit at Hôpital Bicêtre welcomes over 3,500 pregnant women every year for pregnancy monitoring, birth preparation, childbirth and early parenthood support, with a comprehensive and experienced multidisciplinary team.

The majority of pregnant women are low-risk, and we are organized to support you in the physiology of your pregnancy while guaranteeing optimum safety. This care network is organized around a joint follow-up between the hospital and the town network.

We have the necessary structure to accompany the birth of your child in a natural way whenever possible: ambulation, balloon, bathtub...

Given the high-performance technical platform associated with the maternity unit (neonatal intensive care unit, adult intensive care unit and numerous specialty services), pathological pregnancies are taken care of. A multidisciplinary team will be on hand to help you in the event of obstetric pathology, but also if you have a pre-existing chronic pathology requiring specialized expertise...

The maternity unit also includes the expertise of a multidisciplinary prenatal diagnosis center (CPDPN) to manage fetal pathologies, including in-utero surgery when necessary.

The birth follow-up service will welcome you after your delivery to accompany and help you in your first steps as parents. 

Our gynecology-obstetrics emergency service welcomes you 7 days a week and 24 hours a day in case of emergency (door 29).


Gynecology:

The gynecology department at Bicêtre Hospital is at your disposal with a technical platform and recognized medical expertise for making diagnoses using various tools, follow-up consultations in medical gynecology and a functional unit recognized in adolescent gynecological exploration. 

The orthogenics and family planning center handles 1,000 abortions a year.

The gynecology department handles 3,000 procedures a year, including:

• benign and malignant gynecological pathologies.
• Recognized expertise:
  • in operative hysteroscopy,
  • in the management of uterine pathologies responsible for bleeding,
  • in minimally invasive surgery with vaginal approach.

Modern specific care on an outpatient basis or thanks to enhanced rehabilitation after surgery, which helps to promote rapid postoperative recovery.

• l'uro-gynécologie qui est un de nos domaines d’expertise en association avec le service d’urologie et avec l’unité fonctionnelle d’exploration urodynamique.
• la chirurgie de la reproduction / préservation de la fertilité dont notre expertise est reconnue, et nos prises en charge en lien avec le service de médecine de la reproduction du département médico-universitaire situé à l’hôpital Antoine-Béclère à Clamart.
• l’endométriose où une prise en charge médico-chirurgicale est possible, avec des réunions de concertation pluridisciplinaire.
• la chirurgie oncologique qui est réalisée dans le service, que ce soit pour les pathologies mammaires ou pour les pathologies cancéreuses de l’appareil génital. Chaque dossier est discuté en réunion de concertation pluridisciplinaire.
