Service of Hematology - Immunology
Cellular Hematology Sector
This sector studies the structure, function and pathologies of blood and bone marrow cells. It carries out blood counts and associated analyses, reticulocyte counts, VS (sedimentation rate), special blood smear investigations, myelograms, adenograms, bone marrow biopsies, falciformation testing; bone marrow and lymph node sampling and cytology, as well as cytochemistry and immunocytochemistry techniques as part of the diagnosis or follow-up of hematopathies.
For micro-sampling, a waiting room and a sampling room are reserved for patient reception from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Hemostasis sector
This sector explores clot formation and includes primary hemostasis, coagulation and fibrinolysis. It carries out routine hemostasis examinations, pre-operative check-ups, monitoring anticoagulant treatments and investigating abnormalities in certain hemorrhagic or thrombotic pathologies.
- a routine activity: TQ (with or without anti-vitamin K treatment), cofactors (factor V, II, VI+X), APTT (with or without heparin treatment), fibrinogen, fibrin monomers;
- a specialized activity: endogenous pathway factors (factors VIII, IX, XI, XII), Willebrand factor (vWF RCo), D-Dimers, thrombosis workup (AT III, PC, PS, ACC)
Immunology section
This section operates Monday to Friday. It specializes in the exploration of autoimmunity. This sector has developed a flow cytometry activity in the follow-up of patients with acquired immune deficiency (CD4 T lymphocytes) and in the study of the phenotyping of hematological malignancies.
Recipient Immunohematology (IHR) sector
This sector performs ABO RH-KEL1 blood typing, irregular antibody investigations (RAI), DAT (Direct Antiglobulin Tests) as well as specialized activity on grouping difficulties, RAI identifications, adsorptions, elutions, compatibility tests, extended phenotypes and cold agglutinins.
Labile blood product delivery sector
This sector corresponds to the labile blood product (LBS) delivery depot: red blood cell concentrates (RBCs), fresh-frozen plasma (FFP) and platelet concentrates to ensure transfusion support for patients at Ambroise Paré Hospital and Sainte Périne.
