Service of Hepato-bilio-pancreatic surgery and liver transplantation
The Hepato-Bilio-Pancreatic Surgery and Hepatic Transplant Department at Beaujon Hospital is part of the Institut du cancer AP-HP. Nord Université Paris Cité, as well as of the DMedico Uuniversity department (DMU) DIGEST and it depends on the Université Paris Cité.
Digestive surgery department mainly handles tumoral pathologies of the liver, bile ducts and pancreas. Liver transplantation also represents a significant part of its activity.
His department head is Pr Mickaël Lesurtel.
This department comprises 32 inpatient beds with, for the vast majority, single-bed rooms.
The service's main orientations are:
- malignant tumors of the liver (hepatocellular carcinoma, liver metastases, cholangiocarcinoma);
- benign tumors of the liver such as adenoma;
- lithiasis and tumor pathology of the bile ducts;
- endocrine tumors of the pancreas and digestive tract, intracanal, papillary and mucinous tumors of the pancreas (TIPMP) and cancer of the pancreas.
The Hepato-Bilio-Pancreatic Surgery and Hepatic Transplantation department has care, teaching and research objectives. Research activity is based on collaboration with research units at Université Paris Cité, with Inserm and with international units.
