Service of Internal Medicine

The Internal Medicine Department at Hôpital Saint Antoine is a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the care of patients with autoimmune diseases, non-malignant hematological diseases, rare and/or orphan diseases, difficult diagnoses or polypathologies.

The diagnostic approach, the administration of treatments, particularly biotherapies, and follow-up can be carried out in consultation, day hospitalization or conventional hospitalization
The department comprises the following hospitalization units:

  • Internal medicine conventional hospitalization: 45 beds
  • day hospitalization: 12 beds
  • Department for Downstream Emergencies (DAU): 22 beds
  • Unité de Post-Urgences et de Médecine Interne (UPUMI): 18 beds

Requests for hospitalization in internal medicine can be made by general practitioners or specialists, via the on-call physician.
Patients hospitalized at the DAU and UPUMI are transferred exclusively from the Service d'Accueil des Urgences at Hôpital Saint-Antoine, and more rarely from Hôpital Tenon. The DAU is a transitional sector before a return home, a transfer to a specialty department, or a transfer to SSR (Soins de Suite et de Réadaptation). The consultation is located in the Baudelaire Polyclinic: to make an appointment, a letter from your doctor is required. It is possible to make an appointment online with some of the team's doctors: http://saintantoine.aphp.fr/prendre-rendez-vous-en-ligne/: select the "Internist" specialty.
