Service of Internal medicine

The Internal Medicine Department at Beaujon Hospital, headed by Pr Agnès Lefort des Ylouses, is dedicated to the care of patients with systemic diseases, complex infectious pathologies, rare diseases, patients requiring diagnostic explorations, or suffering from polypathologies.

The department, located on the 7th floor of the Nicolas Beaujon building, comprises several specialized units:

• the 32-bed conventional hospitalization sector, for patients requiring prolonged stays;
• the 6-bed day hospital (HDJ), for short-term care and treatment ;
• the constituent site of the "Lysosomal Diseases" reference center, specializing in the management of lysosomal diseases;
• the cross-disciplinary infectious diseases and internal medicine team, which provides specialist infectious diseases and internal medicine advice to all hospital departments and partner clinics.

The Internal Medicine consultation at Beaujon Hospital's Jean Baumann Policlinic offers patients:

• consultations in internal medicine, clinical immunology, infectious diseases, HIV and PREP (with participation in COREVIH Nord)
• a weekly consultation dedicated to vaccination, particularly for immunocompromised patients or those awaiting transplantation.

The Internal Medicine department at Beaujon Hospital is expert:

• in diagnostic exploration: investigation of unexplained signs such as adenopathies, prolonged fever, biological abnormalities, inflammatory arthralgias and arthritis, altered general condition, etc.
• in infectious pathologies: osteoarticular, urinary tract, biliary tract, or central nervous system infections, in immunocompetent or immunosuppressed patients (transplants, on immunosuppressants) with expertise in antibiotic therapy and antibiotic resistance.
• in systemic diseases and in autoimmune diseases;
• inlysosomal diseases (Gaucher disease, Niemann-Pick B disease).

Requests for hospitalization in internal medicine can be made by general practitioners or specialists via the on-call physician, ensuring rapid, coordinated management of patients requiring specialist care.
