Service of Medical gynecology
The Medical Gynecology Department at Bicêtre Hospital, part of the AP-HP University Hospital Group. Université Paris-Saclay, comprises two specialized gynecology units: the Adolescent and Young Adult Gynecology Unit and the GYNHEMO Unit. The Head of Department is Dr. Lise Duranteau.
The Adolescent and Young Adult Gynecology Unit welcomes young girls and women aged 12 to 25 for their gynecological care including breast disorders. This care offer is particularly aimed at patients with a chronic disease or a rare disease.
The unit is attached to the Centre de Référence des Maladies Rares du développement génital de Bicêtre (CRMR Dev Gen) for the gynecological management of patients with a variation in genital development.
The Unit is also labeled Centre de Compétence des Pathologies Gynécologiques Rares (CCMR PGR) for the gynecological management of patients with hemorrhagic disease or congenital uterovaginal malformation including Rokitanski syndrome. This type of center also enables patients suffering from various rare diseases to receive gynecological care in consultation with their referring physicians.
The Unit collaborates closely with the AMP department at Hôpital Antoine Béclère (Pr. Michael Grynberg) to manage the infertility of young women with chronic illnesses, rare diseases or who have been treated for cancer in childhood.
The GYNHEMO Unit was created in collaboration with the Centre de Référence des Troubles Hémorragiques (CRTH) attached to the MHEMO network and coordinated by Dr. Roseline d'OIRON. The Unit is dedicated to the screening, diagnosis and management of heavy menstrual bleeding in adolescents.
Experienced gynecologists provide consultations and day hospitalization support for complex diagnoses and treatments, or those requiring a multidisciplinary opinion.
Requests for 1st appointments concern young women under 18. Consultations are also possible for gynecological advice for young girls.
