Service of Neurophysiology

Our Department offers a wide range of electro-physiological tools to identify and characterize disturbances in nerve activity at all levels of the nervous system: from muscle to cerebral cortex, via nerve trunks, spinal cord, brain stem, cerebellum, diencephalon or retina. These diagnostic tools include electro-neuromyography (ENMG), evoked potentials (PEATC, PEV, PES, PEM, cognitive PE), EEG (recordings from 20 minutes to 24 hours), polysomnography, electroretinography or eye movement recordings. We often intervene in the operating room to monitor in real time the functional integrity of the nervous system during delicate interventions, and in intensive care or emergency departments.
In addition to this diagnostic dimension, we develop therapeutic tools based on different forms of sensory, electrical or magnetic stimulation of the nervous system in different pathologies.
Our Department actively fulfills a triple mission: patient care, teaching/training of physicians and technicians in electroradiology, and fundamental and clinical research.
