The ophthalmology department provides adult patients with a medical-technical platform and a care team capable of treating all medical and surgical pathologies of the eye and its appendages. The department is located on three sites: Hôpital Tenon and Hôpital Saint-Antoine for consultations, and Hôpital Bégin for operations. The medical team specializes in ophthalmic diseases: cataracts, glaucoma, AMD, myopia, lacrimation, ocular surface pathology, dry eye, vascular and inflammatory pathologies. The department specializes in diabetes-related ocular pathologies, in close collaboration with the diabetology department at Hôpital Saint-Antoine. The ophthalmology department is involved in two medical centers for rare diseases: - The department specializes in eye pathologies linked to sickle cell disease. - The department specializes in facial dystonia (blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm, facial paralysis, spasmodic entropion, etc.), for diagnosis and treatment with botulinum toxin injections. In addition, the team's surgeons routinely perform : - Lasers for glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, myopia and sickle cell retinopathy. - Lasers for secondary cataracts. - Surgery for cataracts, glaucoma, eyelid and lacrimal tract abnormalities. Similarly, the department does not currently offer lens-fitting consultations. The department receives patients by appointment and with a doctor's letter. The department does not handle emergencies, which are referred to specialized centers in Paris: Hôtel-Dieu ophthalmology emergency department, Fondation Adolphe de Rothschild ophthalmology emergency department, Quinze-Vingts national ophthalmology center ophthalmology emergency department.
