Service of Ophthalmology

The Ophthalmology Department, headed by Docteur Diem-Trang NGUYEN, is a multidisciplinary team made up of strabology surgeons and ophthalmology pediatricians, as well as medical ophthalmology pediatricians taking charge of all eye pathologies.
In conjunction with your pediatrician/attending physician or general ophthalmologist, we provide diagnostic assessment and management of eye pathologies, and provide emergency consultations if required. The department does not provide vision screening.
The department has a state-of-the-art imaging platform (OCT, wide-field imaging, ultrasound, angiography).
The orthoptics unit provides consultations with orthoptic assessment, color vision, visual field (Humphrey and Goldman) and specialized consultations (low vision assessment, prismatic tests, lancaster, etc.).
The department has all the technical and hospitalization resources needed to provide the most appropriate care, whether on an outpatient or conventional basis.
The ophthalmology-pediatrics team provides teaching services, welcoming ophthalmology interns and orthoptic students for training, and organizing weekly and monthly meetings to discuss cases.

Lists of pathologies treated:

• Pathologies and surgery for strabismus, oculomotor paralysis and nystagmus,
• Management of amblyopia ("lazy" eye)
• Eyelid malformations and malpositions: ptosis (drooping eyelid), epiblepharon, chalazion
• Tear duct pathologies: congenital tear duct imperforation
• Surface pathology: allergy (seasonal and per-annual conjunctivitis, vernal keratoconjunctivitis),
• Anterior segment pathology: cataract, malformations...
• Benign or malignant tumor pathologies
• Ophthalmological pathologies related to visual disability
• Posterior segment pathologies: retinopathy of prematurity, retinal dystrophy, malformation, infection...
