Service of Orthopaedic and Traumatological Surgery

Over 4,000 surgical procedures a year are performed in the department, which has a team of 11 full-time surgeons.
More than 20,000 consultations are carried out each year, both face-to-face and via teleconsultation.
Procedures are performed in the Gaston Cordier or Babinski pavilions; or, for suitable procedures, in the Ambulatory Surgery Unit shared by the entire surgery division. 
The operating room boasts a modern technical platform, including the routine use of 3D intraoperative scanners and navigation, to ensure safe procedures and reduce the radiation dose received by the patient.
The patient pathway is already part of an Accelerated Recovery After Surgery (RAAC) strategy, enabling rapid autonomy and early discharge, thanks to :
- perioperative support with entry on the morning of surgery (j0)
- a physiotherapy technical platform
- the use of compressive cryotherapy for pain relief in the immediate post-operative period
- the PRADO (Programme d'aide de retour au domicile)
- our social service when a stay in our SSR (Soins de Suite et Réadaptation) network is required.
