Service of Orthopedic surgery for children

The department is a center of excellence in several fields:

  • motor disability,
  • spinal pathologies,
  • upper limb surgery,
  • plastic and reconstructive surgery,
  • microsurgery,
  • surgery for congenital orthopedic malformations.

A plastic and reconstructive surgery cluster within the department has been created.
This department comprises 3 care units:

  • 1 conventional orthopedic hospitalization unit (16 beds).
  • 1 weekday hospitalization unit (10 beds).
  • 1 downstream emergency unit (6 beds).


Trauma surgery activity linked to downstream emergency.Orthopedic specialty activity.
Maxillofacial surgery activity.
The department meets both local and emergency objectives.
Local objectives mainly concern traumatology and infectious pathologies (osteomyelitis, arthritis...).
Referral objectives concern the management and follow-up of pathologies requiring specialized medical expertise and a major technical platform.
The care project is centered, with regard to the department's missions, on 4 axes:

  • quality reception for the child and his family,
  • pain management,
  • optimizing the quality and safety of care,
  • enhancing staff skills.
