Service of Pain

The Pain Assessment and Treatment Center (CETD) cares for patients with complex chronic pain (more than 3 months' duration) who have failed to respond to treatment by the treating physician and at least one specialist.
Care is exclusively ambulatory (outpatient consultation and day hospitalization). We have no conventional hospitalization facilities.
To ensure seamless care, we take in patients living close to Saint-Antoine Hospital. If necessary, we redirect patients to other facilities close to home.

The list of pathologies we care for:

• Chronic post-operative pain: pain following surgery persisting for more than 3 months
• Chronic low back pain: back pain persisting for more than 3 months
• Fibromyalgia: disease giving whole-body pain and severe fatigue
• Chronic daily headaches: headache every day or almost every day
• Migraine without or with aura: occasional headache with particular characteristics, generally preventing usual activities (work, domestic tasks, leisure activities...)
• Chronic neuropathic pain: i.e. caused by damage to a nerve or other neurological structure persisting for more than 3 months. For example: post-zoster pain, chronic sciatica...
• Complex regional pain syndrome (or algodystrophy): disproportionate pain following a trauma or intervention and persisting for more than 3 months
• Other chronic pain

Sectors of activity
Our exclusively outpatient care offering (consultation, day hospital and patient groups) is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of chronic pain as well as its consequences.
We offer comprehensive care that can combine a number of approaches: oral medication, local medication (capsaicin and botulinum toxin), transcutaneous neuromodulation (TENS, tVNS or rTMS), therapeutic education, relaxation, acupuncture...

Une fois votre demande reçue par notre service, nous vous recontacterons (délai habituel une à deux semaines) pour vous indiquer les documents à remplir en fonction de votre situation : dossier à remplir par le médecin traitant, questionnaire d’évaluation patient, ordonnance…
Vous pourrez renvoyer l’ensemble de ces documents sur la même plateforme.
Nous pourrons éventuellement vous réorienter vers une structure douleur chronique plus proche de chez vous.
Une fois votre demande complète, nous vous proposerons un rendez-vous pour une première consultation avec un médecin de notre centre. Il s’agit généralement d’une consultation longue (entre 30 et 45 minutes) afin d’évaluer votre douleur chronique et de proposer une stratégie thérapeutique. Le suivi de celle-ci peut être réalisé auprès des professionnels (médecins, kinés) de ville ou au sein de notre centre, en fonction de sa complexité.
