Service of Palliative care

Comprehensive care of patients with serious, progressive or terminal illnesses for:
- Assessment and treatment of pain and other symptoms of discomfort (dyspnea, anxiety, etc.).
- Reflection on and organization of a life project for the patient (return home, transfer to a USP, inclusion in a palliative care network...).
- Psychological support for the patient and his or her loved ones, bereavement follow-up.
- Outpatient follow-up.
- Support for nursing teams.
- Accompaniment of patients and/or relatives by a team of specially trained volunteers (on the Antoine-Béclère site).
- Help with ethical reflection:
In complex clinical situations (request for euthanasia, feelings of unreasonable obstinacy, limitation of active therapies...).
- Helping to disseminate the palliative approach through:
- Specific training relating to palliative care.
- Setting up practice analysis groups in multi-professional teams, "palliative care" staffs.
