Service of Pediatric ENT and head surgery

Robert-Debré Hospital's Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology and Cervicofacial Surgery Department is an internationally recognized academic team for the medical and surgical treatment of diseases and malformations of the ears, nose and throat in children from birth to adolescence.
It is labeled a constitutive Rare Disease Reference Center (MALO) and a Reference Center for Cochlear Implantation.
The medical team's main areas of expertise are:

• childhood deafness and balance disorders from neonatal screening to cochlear implantation (Centre de Diagnostic et d'Orientation des Surdités, CDOS)
• the minimally invasive surgery (endoscopic airway surgery, sinus and skull base navigation)
• the benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck.
• the congenital malformations of the face and neckin collaboration with the stomatology and maxillofacial surgery department and the Centre Plurisdisciplinaire de Diagnostic Prénatal (CPDPN)
• the NORL airway diseases
   

Since 2023, the department is also equipped with the first French-designed surgical robot dedicated to the ear, which accompanies the surgeon in placing cochlear implants in children.

La chirurgie ORL et cervico-faciale, un service de l'Institut Robert-Debré du Cerveau de l'Enfant
Créé en 2021 et labellisé Institut hospitalo-universitaire (IHU) en 2023, l’Institut Robert-Debré du Cerveau de l’Enfant rassemble représentants des enfants et des familles, chercheurs, médecins, soignants mondialement reconnus et acteurs économiques autour d’une même cause : l’enfant, son développement cognitif et ses vulnérabilités. Mieux comprendre le cerveau en développement afin de lui fournir les outils dont il a besoin pour sa santé, ses apprentissages et son bien-être, est la vocation première de cet institut qui bénéficie d’un partenariat unique entre l’AP-HP, l’Inserm, l’université Paris Cité, l’Institut Pasteur et le Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique (CEA). En 2027, un bâtiment dédié ouvrira ses portes au sein de l’hôpital Robert-Debré AP-HP, fleuron de la pédiatrie. Ce nouveau bâtiment abritera des unités de soins et des plateformes de recherche pour plus d’innovation afin d’accélérer la découverte de nouveaux traitements et de nouveaux dispositifs d’accompagnement, aux côtés des enfants, de leurs familles et des partenaires industriels. Ce sont près de 400 professionnels qui travaillent au service de l’enfant, de sa santé et de son éducation. L’Institut Robert-Debré du Cerveau de l’Enfant fait partie des 20 plus prestigieux instituts de recherche et de soins français, toutes disciplines confondues.
