Service of Physiology and neurophysiology

The laboratory's activities are divided into 2 sectors:
SFunctional explorations sector 
The mission of the functional explorations sector is to provide assistance in the management of endocrine diseases, renal diseases and phosphocalcium metabolism pathologies.

Metabolomics sector 
The main mission of this sector is to provide assistance in the pre- and post-natal diagnosis of hereditary metabolic diseases and to ensure the follow-up of the patients concerned. The department also provides assistance in the diagnosis and follow-up of any pathology involving altered metabolism.

Clinical Activities 
The department performs electroencephalogram (EEG) examinations; electro-neuro-myogram (ENMG) and somesthetic evoked potentials (SEP).

• Electrophysiological explorations: Head Dr Anna KAMINSKA

These explorations are carried out on inpatients or outpatients, mainly children or newborns, and very premature infants.
They include different types of recordings: electroencephalographic, electromyographic, the recording of evoked potentials: cerebral somesthetic potentials, pre- and per-operative somesthetic evoked potentials, auditory evoked potentials.

• Non-invasive ventilation (NIV): Responsible Pr Brigitte FAUROUX

This unit includes a weekday hospital structure in which sleep explorations are performed, as well as a respiratory physiology laboratory in which work of breathing measurements are carried out, using an oesogastric probe, in spontaneous ventilation and under CPAP/NIV, as well as respiratory muscle assessment

The service is attached to the medico university department of medical biology, genomic medicine, physiology.
