The Port-Royal maternity hospital is a type 3 maternity hospital, providing nearly 5,500 births every year, in modern facilities and a high-level medical-surgical environment.

Personalized care for normal and pathological pregnancies
Thanks to its environment - medical and surgical services, adult intensive care, neonatal intensive care and pediatrics - the Maternité Port-Royal enables the care of pregnant women with heavy maternal pathologies, a risk of very premature delivery or a malformative fetal pathology requiring specific neonatal care.

Grâce à sa filière spécifique de prise en charge des grossesses à bas risque, elle offre également aux futurs mamans sans facteur de risque particulier la possibilité d'un suivi personnalisé moins médicalisé. Since 2014, the Maternity Hospital has also had a Nature Room for mothers wishing to have a physiological birth. Via the City-Hospital network, outsourced monitoring by a midwife or private doctor is also offered, in close liaison with the Maternity Hospital team.

Excellence in monitoring high-risk pregnancies
The Maternity Unit's multidisciplinary teams particularly excel in the management of maternal pathologies, prematurity, multiple pregnancies and fetal malformations, with dedicated centers:

• The management of maternal pathologies is carried out within the framework of the Centre Expert des Maladies Maternelles
• Fetal pathologies are managed by the Centre Pluridisciplinaire de Diagnostic Prénatal

The on-site neonatal intensive care unit, with its large capacity, can accommodate 350 annual transfers of women at high risk of prematurity from other hospitals, optimizing the management of very premature deliveries in the Île-de-France region.

The maternity unit and Cochin teams thus have expertise in the following situations: threat of premature delivery, intrauterine growth retardation, preeclampsia, diabetes, autoimmune and endocrinological diseases, cancer, lung disease, heart disease, placenta acreta, drug addiction, psychiatric illnesses, HIV, etc.
