Service of Psychiatry and addictology

The Psychiatry-Addictology Department at Beaujon Hospital comprises two functional units: the Unité de Traitement Ambulatoire des Maladies Addictives (UTAMA) and the liaison psychiatry unit.

The UTAMA offers individual consultations to adults for addictions

  • to substances: tobacco, alcohol, cannabis and other illicit products (cocaine, synthetic products...), psychotropic drugs (benzodiazepines, opioids)
  • behavioral: gambling, compulsive buying

Patients can take part in therapeutic groups:

  • Alcohol Talk Group, in partnership with expert patients (APEA)
  • Tobacco group counseling
  • Relaxation
  • Relapse prevention/abstinence maintenance group
  • ACT group (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)
  • Affirmation group
  • Cognitive assessment and cognitive remediation
  • Friday of the entourage
  • Mindfulness meditation group for relapse prevention (MBRP)
  • Culture of the heart

The addictology care offered to patients is multidisciplinary (general addictology physicians and psychiatrists, psychologists, neuropsychologist, nurses, social worker, dietician).

The UTAMA also has an addictology liaison activity in the emergency department, and within the wards of Beaujon Hospital.
The unit is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and is located on the 4th floor of the Jean Baumann Policlinic at Beaujon Hospital.

The psychiatric unit provides medical liaison services to the emergency department and all other departments at Beaujon Hospital.
Psychiatric emergencies are attended 7 days a week by a psychiatrist on call from 9am to midnight.
