Service of Rheumatology

The rheumatology department at Hôpital Bichat - Claude-Bernard specializes in various cutting-edge fields.

  • Inflammatory rheumatism (rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, spondyloarthropathy), microcrystalline rheumatism (gout, chondrocalcinosis), connectivites (lupus, scleroderma) and auto-inflammatory disease (Still's disease).
  • The department is particularly specialized in the pulmonary involvement of rheumatoid arthritis and connectivites.
  • All senior physicians are specialists in the imaging assessment of inflammatory rheumatism. The department is equipped with 4 dedicated ultrasound machines, to improve our performance both diagnostically and therapeutically via ultrasound-guided gestures.
  • Patients benefit from multiple support and information thanks to therapeutic education consultations with a dedicated nurse.
  • The department also handles common or complex spinal pathologies, complicated or severe osteoporosis assessments with the possibility of performing cementoplasty in association with the radiology department.
